About Nil to Mil – our microstock journey from $0 to $1,000,000
We’re Matt & Sarah Antonino, two professional photographers. We’ve photographed everything from babies to weddings, models to cars and sports. We are full time photographers although full time in what depends on the season. Weddings take up May through November and commercial stock photography is the remainder.
Nil to Mil is our attempt to chronicle our microstock journey from nil to our first microstock $1 million. It can be done. What it takes – we’re going to find out. Nil to Mil is a site I’ve had in mind since I started microstock. I am a statistics junkie and a data tracker. In my mind, there’s a method to all of this microstock madness and if I can get to the bottom of it, I know it can be an amazing source of revenue for us.
I think we can make $1 million in microstock because professional, business-oriented microstock photographers are still a growing and somewhat rare breed. We have real business experience, we are marketers and most of all we are a team. We have worked together for five years building two businesses already. Photography, marketing and selling – that’s who we are.
Our big obstacle to overcome in this journey to $1 million is scale. We already know we can be successful at stock photography. $1 million isn’t successful though – it’s WILDLY successful. We need to scale our business up from start to explosion.
We are still students of this game. Nothing we say on the blog should be interpreted as we “think we know it all” because we don’t. We’re offering up ideas and theories – play with them, examine them, challenge them. We do. Your participation on our journey is critical to realizing the best in what we can be.
