New/dying/dead.
I am happy to report we are not dead or dying yet
This list makes me feel a bit like the guy in Monty Python who lives back during the plague and isn’t dead but is being carted off by the two body collectors who shouts out, I’m not dead and then gets knocked over the head with a club.
How do blog entries like the Circle of Life help your business Matt? I’m interested in learning more about your thoughts.
John,
It serves as a reminder to me to stop joining sites that go nowhere. Now, I know my sales aren’t the best per image but c’mon let’s look at some stats.
My last sale, with 2362 online images, was June 09. That’s 10 months without a sale on nearly 2500 images.
Like I said, my sales aren’t usually the best but realistically I joined 3dstudio, depositphotos, and Graphic Leftovers 3 months ago – all 3 have had multiple sales in that time on fewer images on 2 of those 3.
Whether or not you’re “dead yet” Monty Python style, saying Cutcaster is a player is a bit unrealistic to me.
The point of this was for me to look at sites like Fotomind, LuckyOliver and StockXpert that I wasted time on and are now dead, sites like Cutcaster and FeaturePics that I waste time on that are not doing ANYTHING for me and new sites like the top 5 – that are likely going to follow the same path.
I have a comprehensive list of over 80 micro sites. Four years ago the top sites were IStock, Dreamstime, Shutterstock and Fotolia. Has that changed? No.
So even though it seems flip, casual and not helpful to me, I think it is.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFL!!!!!!!!!
I just had my first sale in 10 months on there. COINKYDINK!
Cutcaster LIVES!!! It’s not dead yet! lol
