The ?Long tail? therory sounds convincing and solid, however I think there is a little misunderstanding there: If I have 300 of the best selling images, I still would earn more than having 300 of the images in the ?long tail?.
Earning money in the ?long tail? means also having more images there which in return means that you need to spend much more time in taking, editing, capturing and uploading these images.
Or haven?t I thought this through at all??

So here are those delayed results – July was a BME! Crazily, Dreamstime was amazingly good. 123RF also had a BME. Not bad for as little work as I did. August is worse for my schedule. I can?t WAIT until October.

Simple and to the point this month, like my month of work.
Overall gallery increased from 5777 to 9052 but that was mostly the result of adding YayMicro and 1100 images as well as pending May images finally being reviewed.
Overall income increased to a record $524.84 and 5 agencies had a Best Month Ever despite me doing basically no work.? Not a bad month, but I hope to dramatically improve it in July.? That was disappointing.

So what happened?? Did I fail?? Why am I back already?
Well the answers are long & complex – I learned a lot the last 4 days though.? I? have submitted just over 400 images in 4 days.? If I kept going, I would have made a serious run at 1k?in 7 days so why stop?

March was an all around Best Month EVER. Shutterstock was BME and double last month?s sales on 94 new images. Dreamstime was almost 4x my BME. The new sites got into the act late in the month – Crestock, SXP, LO and FotoMind all pulled their first sales. Slightly down month on Bigstock and 123RF.

In the beginning, there was nil.
Ok, that?s not exactly true.? My microstock journey began in 2004 – in fact April of 2004 if you ask IstockPhoto.? IStock was the first agency I signed up with following recommendations on a website I frequented at the time.
