well .im glad i found this lil treasure trove,,,first let me tell u i submit photos and illustrations to most microstock…bigstock,123rf,fotolia,dreamstime,snap village….i dont mind the rejections..some accept the photos or vectors others reject..go figger…
but my main beef is that if one of my pics or vectors is sold…id like to see where it goes to keep in portfolio,whether its mag. or website,or any publication…too date fotolia is the only one who does this…why?? no clue..

as far as rejections is concerned…well we have to live with it..

Oh and I also agree that “bad” comes across as insulting; there are far more diplomatic ways to say an image did not meet the site standards.

please improve isolation/editing

Poor lighting
Image requires a property release
Thank you but we are not interested in this subject matter or situation
Poor isolation
Elements of the background are not acceptable
Cropping should be improved

Yeah, I agree with you. I think “poor” would be a much kinder, and more grammatically correct, word to use.

But I would feel much worse about getting a rejection that states “Looks like a snapshot”. That sounds like an insult to me, and I don’t appreciate reviewers hurling insults! That one should be replaced with something more diplomatic.

Can someone support me here that “Bad” is a bad word to use? I was telling Alex off site that I think telling someone their photos are “bad” makes them dislike the site a bit more with each rejection and that “poor focus” beats “Bad focus” or “Uneven lighting” beats “looks like a snapshot.” Support? Anyone?

At 123RF, we usually group these:
# Bad composition
# Bad focus
# Enlargement has been done and it?s not tolerable.
# Looks like a snapshot.

Under Bad lighting/composition Though it’s not as detailed (as the others), but you get the idea.
